St. Peter’s Apostolic Church is being built on a simple conviction: no one should have to choose between a deeply rooted Catholic faith and a church where they are genuinely welcomed, known, and loved.
We are an independent Catholic Christian community grounded in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the sacramental life of the Church, and the enduring richness of Catholic tradition.
Our doors are open to all who seek God — those whose faith has sustained them for a lifetime, those returning after years away, those who have felt unwelcome elsewhere, and those simply searching for a place to begin.
Whoever you are, wherever you have been, there is a place for you here.
We believe a church should be known not only by what happens at the altar, but by what happens when its people walk out the doors.
Our vision for St. Peter’s is a permanent parish and community center in New York’s Capital Region — a home for worship and the Sacraments, but also a place where neighbors find food when the cupboard is empty, veterans find practical support and fellowship, families find community, and people who are struggling find someone willing to stand beside them.
We envision a parish alive throughout the week — not simply on Sunday morning. A place of prayer and celebration, community meals and service, friendship and dignity.

Meet Our Pastor
Fr. Kevin Sturm, D.Min.
Father Kevin Sturm brings decades of ministry, pastoral care, and service to St. Peter’s. Formed in the Jesuit tradition and holding a Doctor of Ministry degree, his ministry has included extensive service as a Catholic military chaplain, accompanying service members and their families through some of life’s most joyful, challenging, and difficult moments.
That experience shaped a pastoral philosophy grounded in presence, compassion, and service: know people, care for them, walk beside them, and put faith into action. At St. Peter’s, Father Kevin brings that philosophy to the work of building a Catholic community where worship, service, and genuine human connection belong together.

“I felt called to bring St. Peter’s into being from a simple conviction: the Church should be a place where people know they belong — where they are welcomed, known, cared for, and given opportunities to care for others.
My vision for St. Peter’s is a Catholic community deeply rooted in faith and the sacramental life of the Church, but never confined to what happens within the walls of a sanctuary. Our faith should be visible in the way we care for one another, serve our neighbors, support veterans and families, feed those in need, and stand beside people through both the joys and difficulties of life.
As St. Peter’s continues to grow, I hope it becomes a spiritual home for those who worship here and a trusted presence in the wider community — a place where faith leads naturally to service, and where people discover not only that they are welcome, but that they are needed.
